John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit with his pop-folk songs Many of them were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a native of New Mexico. artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state have attracted many people to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver was by far one of the most popular performers who embodies Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. He is now the international face of Colorado. While traveling, I may meet people at the other end of the world. Like, for instance, someone who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado the response is "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk group comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version and knew it was going to be an instant hit in the top 10. The singer recorded the song just a few days later following a performance to an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
